This majestic old home in Mabou needs someone to restore it to its former glory. Dating back maybe to 1875, this 3 storey building still shows its beautiful design, with architectural touches from another time. Ceilings, 10 feet at least, handsome tall windows, the front entranceway, the trim ….. and look at the fancy windows in the dormer!
This is a large building, a project not for the faint of heart:
- 28 x 38 plus 26 x 17 for 1500 sq ft on the main and second floors, plus an attic on the 3rd.
There is another building close to the road, that could have commercial use, also a shed behind the house.
The 12,000 sq ft lot is municipally serviced.
Location
Mabou is one of the most picturesque villages in Nova Scotia, and this house is right in the heart of it. The Post Office and the Red Shoe pub are two doors down, banking and groceries just up the street. Mabou harbour and beaches are near by.
On the road - Route 19, the Ceilidh Trail - the whole of western Cape Breton is an easy drive: Inverness, Cheticamp, the National Park …... so much to see and do.
