64 acres (as described on the NS Lands Records system) on Hunters Road slopes down all the way to the Celtic SHores Coastal Trail (the old railway tracks) which runs beside the South West Mabou river.
Views from here are the widest panoramas, looking over the Mabou Highlands, the estuary, the church …
Then turning further around to the south…..
About 35 acres are cleared pasture, a lower section is growing in softwood, then there is mature hardwood forest before the river. 1300+ feet of frontage on Hunters Road offers subdivision potential. There’s a similar amount of frontage on the river and the trail.
The section of the Trail forming the lower boundary of this property runs close to the river with some spectacular vistas, but is likely not accessible here from above as a massive ridge drops almost vertically to the trail and river.
Here is a map of this lower part, to show what’s going on with the Trail, the river and the property. The two small parcels are included in this sale.
Location
Accessed from Hunters Road, this place is between Mabou and Port Hood, 10 to 15 minutes from each with Mabou a bit closer. West Mabou beach is nearby, square dances are even closer. 5 minutes to Highway 19 whence all of western Cape Breton is in easy driving reach.
